About Mary Gallagher

Taking the first step to enter into therapy can be incredibly difficult and takes courage.  After doing so, you will feel relieved, as if a weight has been lifted. You will be on the path to finding fulfillment and resolving issues impacting your life. I believe clients are experts in themselves and as such, my role is to offer support and to help you to identify common threads or patterns of behavior. You will receive insight, constructive feedback, and support with compassion. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe and free to express your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I am here to listen to your story and help you make positive, lasting changes.

During my many years of experience, I have had the privilege of partnering with clients to deal with a variety of issues such as anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, domestic violence, sexual abuse, substance use, relationship and family issues, and challenges with parenting.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 1997 and Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University in 2003. I have worked in both the private and public sectors providing services to children and families. I have extensive knowledge and experience with domestic violence and trauma. I have a special interest in working with veterans of the armed forces and am honored by their sacrifice and commitment to serving their country. I also have a passion for working with couples; relationships can be difficult to navigate and at times can leave partners feeling disconnected and hopeless. I help clients to process their individual needs and communicate more effectively which is key to an equal, fulfilling relationship based upon trust.
